Instruments

My pride and joy is my 1983 Hirsbrunner Euphonium. I can’t thank my folks enough for purchasing that wonderful instrument for me when I was a junior in high school. Though it shows a bit of wear, I wouldn’t trade it for a new horn. The intonation is wonderful, the projection is beautiful, and it responds easily in all ranges. It’s a fabulous instrument and if I ever had to replace it, it would be with another Hirsbrunner.

My mouthpiece of choice is a gold-plated Dennis Wick Steven Mead 2. I find the rim to be extremely comfortable and the tone to be dark and full. I also have an SM3 and SM4, but for now, I’m using the SM2 exclusively.
